Individuals from the community who have made financial contributions to Newton Trails are members of a grassroots group playfully known as the Multi-Use Trail Advocates for a Newton Trail System, the M.U.T.A.N.T.S.!

The M.U.T.A.N.T.S are just folks who care about Newton County and the health and welfare of its citizens – the physical, mental, and environmental health. They are dedicated to planning and building a legacy for this generation and generations to come. The M.U.T.A.N.T.S want recreation opportunities for themselves, their families, and the community in which they live.  They want an alternative transportation system that connects every natural, man-made, and historic site worth seeing in Newton County and beyond.

A strong showing of local support makes it easier for us to leverage large grants from the government, private foundations, and corporations.  Trail building is straightforward; it just takes a narrow right of way and the costs of construction.  Every dollar we raise goes directly into extending Newton’s multi-use trail network.

Newton Trails appreciates any level of giving.  All contributions are tax-deductible.  For gifts of $35 or more, contributors receive M.U.T.A.N.T.S. brand gifts.  Membership levels are as follows:

Consider making a multi-year pledge or honoring a family member or friend with a section of trail.  For $350, Newton Trails can construct and perpetually maintain an 8’X8’ section of trail with a brick bearing the name of the honoree embedded in the middle of the section.

Box 2010, Covington, Georgia 30015.  Be sure to include your contact information so that we may keep you informed of openings and other events.  We will mail you a receipt for tax purposes and your M.U.T.A.N.T.S. gifts.
