EVENTS:  TRAIL WORK SESSION

TRAIL MAINTENANCE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Are you interested in helping maintain Newton County’s recreational trails on Thursday mornings?

Informal one-hour work sessions have focused on brush and kudzu control along the Oxford Trail and the Eastside Trail- Covington, Ga and picking up old tires/litter along the Cricket Frog Trail. We've also built barriers aimed at discouraging walkers from shortcutting the hairpin curves on the Eastside Trail behind Chimney Park.

There is a wide variety of work to be done - and plenty of it!   We'll pick up litter, trim vegetation, remove obstacles, and do whatever else needs to be done.

If you are interested in joining our pool of volunteers, email gregr147@gmail.com for info on upcoming sessions. There is no commitment to participate - we just invite you to come when able. Please share!

Work sessions are held every Thursday most weeks, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Individuals, families and community groups are welcome! Check our EVENTS page for specific details regarding where to meet and supplies needed for each session.
