Chances are that if you've participated in a Newton Trails walk, bike ride or trail workday, you've met Debra. Debra is a longtime Newton Trails supporter and outdoor enthusiast. She also owns some powerful yard maintenance tools that she willingly puts to use on our local trail system. A 60-year native to Covington/Newton County, she is the director of Medical Services & Support for C.R. Bard, Inc., where she has worked for 34 years. Fittingly, as a Newton Trails board member, Debra will focus on developing a vegetation management plan for the coming rail trail.
Jill has graciously accepted our invitation to serve as secretary upon joining the board of directors. She has lived in Newton County for over 28 years in Oxford and Covington. She works for the Newton County School System at the Newton College and Career Academy in Work Based Learning and is the school's Wellness Committee Chair. She and husband Mark have three children ages 12, 16, and 21. Jill and family enjoy camping, hiking, soccer, and travel. Jill is a longtime advocate for children and adults with special needs.
We look forward to working with both Debra and Jill as we move forward on some exciting projects.
