Rail Trail Naming, Ribbon Cutting, and Walking for Health Rescheduled for Wednesday, May 3rd
April 5, 2017
Join us on Wednesday, May 3rd for the grand finale of the second annual Every Body Walk Newton series as we unveil the new rail trail name and logo, walk the newly-paved section of rail trail and distribute t-shirts to those who have participated in at least three of the four walks in the series. Meet at 5:45 PM at the Elm Street trailhead. Parking is available in the Newton County parking deck.
Piedmont Healthcare is sponsoring the 2017 Every Body Walk series, and our walk leaders for the grand finale event will be Piedmont orthopedic surgeons Dr. Justin Kunes and Dr. Renee Riley. Dr. Kunes and Dr. Riley will talk about obesity and the benefits of walking before leading us on a walk on the newly-paved half mile of rail trail as well as a half mile of primitive (gravel) rail trail.
Every Body Walk Newton is a series of weekly community walks to benefit health, mind and soul. We'll build community as we have fun walking and talking together. Those who attend and sign in at three out of the four walks in the series will receive an original Newton Trails t-shirt. T-shirts will be distributed at the grand finale walk on Wednesday, May 3.
Our thanks to Piedmont for sponsoring Every Body Walk Newton and other Newton Trails walks throughout 2017. For the latest health tips, recipes and expert advice or to sign up for Piedmont's monthly Living Better e-newsletter, visit piedmont.org/livingbetter.
