Our hike on April 4th is at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia near Athens.
Plan to leave at 9:00 a.m. from the Parking Lot at Mayfield Ace Hardware (on Elm Street in Covington). We have permission to park there -- but please park at the bottom of their lot close to Walgreen's.
If you prefer, meet us at the location below.
After the hike we will eat at The Grit (vegetarian) on Prince Avenue in Athens.

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia

Distance from Covington: 41 miles (allow 1 hour)
Start: Trailhead for the white trail is located on the right as you enter the first parking area. Bathrooms are available in the visitor center.

Difficulty: Moderate to easy
Trail surface: Unpaved hiking trails

Notes: We will be hiking the white and the orange trail, taking us through diverse terrain. If interested, allow time for perusing the gardens after we complete the hike.
