Wednesday, August 1: Alcovy Conservation Center Nature Trail
Our hike on August 1st is at Georgia Wildlife Federation's Alcovy Conservation Center.
Plan to meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Conservation Center located at 11600 Hazelbrand Rd., Covington, GA. To get there head east on Hazelbrand from Home Depot. The gate opens at 8 am so if the gate is not open park across the street outside the old recycling center until the gate opens.
Other: The center is closed on the weekend but you can park at the gate and hike the trail which starts behind the center's headquarters. The trail travels along the Alcovy Tupelo Swamp which is the northern most stand of Tupelo Trees in GA.
LET'S GO HIKING!!
