Our hike on May 1st is at Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge.

 

NOTE we are moving to 8am as our leave time now that it is getting warmer.

Plan to leave at 8:00 a.m. from the Parking Lot at Mayfield Ace Hardware (on Elm Street in Covington). We have permission to park there -- but please park at the bottom of their lot close to Walgreen's.

If you prefer, meet us at the location below. After the hike we will eat at the Whistle Stop Café in Juliette.

Start At the Visitors Center.

-Bathrooms are available in the Visitors Center.

 

Distance- 5.2 miles 

Difficulty- Moderate to easy

Trail surface- Unpaved hiking trails

Canine Compatibility- Allowed

Nearest Town- Monticello

Notes The Red-cockcaded Woodpecker (2.9), Lake (.9), Pine (.5) and Creek (.8) trails can be done separately or easily added together.
