Grass Close Up

Charles Odum is a busy young man. He works at BJ's Wholesale Club primarily in their online shopping unit, is taking four classes at Georgia State University's Newton Campus, and sends nearly all of Newton Trails' thank you letters. When you make a donation or contribute a sponsorship, Charles prints a recognition letter and drops it in the mail. He plans to continue that volunteer work even after he transfers to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro this fall. There he will pursue a baccalaureate degree in business management.

Charles started volunteering with Newton Trails two years ago when one of his professors offered extra credit to students engaged in community service. Charles says, "the best part of my volunteer service is seeing the same names come across my desk, it's nice to see how many people contribute and how many give repeatedly." When he is not writing and sending out thank you letters, Charles enjoys hanging with friends, working on cars, and working out at the gym.
